After having some problems with CX customer service, and after many tips from the helpful group on this board, I finally took flight 885 on CX from LAX to HKG, Friday 6/13.

If I had previous doubts about CX as an airline, they were all resolved. Here are my observations as a first time flyer on Cathay Pacific:

1. The service was better than any I've ever had, on any airline, domestic or international, the staff was friendly and competent;

2. The food was the best airline food I've ever had;

3. The aircraft was clean, well maintained, no signs of wear and tear in any area of the aircraft I used;

4. Business Class was a delight - I had the "new" lie-flat seats - these were not too small as some have suggested here...they were absolutely great;

5. I would strongly recommend CX business class to anyone flying the LAX-HKG route.

Hats off to CX for a job well done. I've gone from a skeptic to a believer. Without question, I'll be back to fly CX next time.
