Cost of taxi vs. limo sedan

Mrs. TokyoKid, BabyTokyoKid, and I will arrive in SFO from Boston (via MSP) on our way to Japan on August 19. What's the approximate cost of a taxi between SFO airport and a downtown hotel? I checked online and the approximate cost of a taxi will be $30-45 and approximately $50-55 for a limo sedan. Is this accurate? Are there reduced rates for round-trip limo fares to/from the airport?

Also, as an obsessively safety concerned father who has taken his fair share of wild cab rides both domestically and internationally (top place goes to a cab ride in Mexico City!), I'm concerned about riding in a cab while holding our daughter on my lap. Do limo companies offer child seats? If so, is there a charge and how much? I couldn't find that information on any web site. I don't suppose it would be possible for us to arrange for a taxi company to have a cab waiting with an infant seat for us after exiting the terminal, is it?

Any advice would be hugely appreciated! My apologies if this is posted under the incorrect section. The first part is probably ok but the second part should most likely be under Traveling With Children.
