AFAIK the Thank You Network actually pays $$$ for all tickets that are redeemed with their points. The last time I used Thank You points the ticket booked into a paid fare and there was an electronic receipt showing a $$$ paid amount. I also received miles for the flight just as if it had been paid for with cash. The only issue will be if the ticket books into a fare basis that is upgradeable.
