Welcome to FT ^
Sorry to hear about your unpleasant UA On Board experience. Unfortunately, given the current economic climate at UA, these experiences are becoming more and more commonplace.
Recently, I was flying from LGA-DEN in F, and we made an unexpected emergency landing (diverted due to an ill passenger) As much as I sympathized with the ill passenger (who incidentally was in stable condition), I had to also look out for my own well being. I very politely asked one of the FA's during decent, if there would be reps at the gate to give us rebooking info, and I was told "It's all about YOU YOU YOU, always about YOU!, Maybe YOU should think about that poor ill passenger we have on board, and stop thinking about yourself" I was quite taken aback, and told the FA that his comments were inappropriate, and rude to say the least. He later said that I should learn to take a joke, but I think a lot of UA FA's are quite unhappy these days.
I recently took an Alaska Airlines flight in the F Cabin, and wow what a difference in service! The FA personally thanked each F passenger for their business. I can't tell you the last time that happened on a UA domestic flight!
