While not wanting to lay all the blame on OP the long story short part about how it escalated from snippy comments to assault does make me wonder whether there wasn't some culpability on both sides as it generally takes two to tango and argue.
Actually the long story to short was - I tried to leave then he punched me in the back of the head. A complete sucker punch after I thought the whole thing was over. But now I see why victims also seem to be portrayed as the bad guys in court, etc. Luckily I had over 10 witnesses who said "I DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO THESE PEOPLE". And it does not always take two people to argue... when someone is nuts they don't need a reason to hit you. They already have several reasons in their head as to what you did wrong... like these people. Carrying 2 items on the plane warranted them swearing at me and then punching me in the back of the head when I was not looking...
