It is most likely your rate increased rather than the coupon doing anything. Coupons at Alamo have no effect on rates. Contract ID's can change rates but I have never seen a coupon change rates.
Yeah - coupons just apply a discount. I'd verify the contract ID and try again. Either that, or the rate changed. (I mean, this is a rental car company and a GOOD 10 minutes probably passed since your last attempt...)
