cloud based US number to UK or US mobile service

All, I had a good search, but havent found quite what I am looking for. These days I work for a much smaller company and every penny counts. Currently I have a Nokia e61i, Nokia N76 and 6300. All are unlocked. Currently the e61i is my work phone and 'blackberry' (though using pop), the N76 is my personal phone, and the 6300 is a spare.

I will be in the US for 3 weeks, and the boss is having a bit of a mary about how much I might spend on roaming ect. Its also become apparent that it would be a good idea if I had a US number of my own. The key thing is I would like to be able to repoint that number very easily when on the road (via sms if possible). I have an ATT gophone SIM, that is active, and i will put that in my e61i, with the new 30 day medianet for $20 that will save a fortune, even if its edge only - thats fine. I have tomtom on my e61i, with the maps, so that will be pulling double duty as I will be doing a lot of client visits. The o2 work sim will be in the 6300 as for calls only - no expensive data. The N76 will be my personal phone as always. out of interest I regularly use skype, and could buy a US number, but to change the forwarding to ATT gophone number or back to o2 in 6300 requires logging on - the ideal situation is both phones ring and i can pick up the 'cheapest' one, or i sms service provider to activate or change phone

Advice please....
