You really need to go look at the camera and decide, as it is a little bulky. I carry mine in a a daypack and only break it out when I want to take photos. I have a case for it I got at Walmart ($12 or so, perfect fit), as I didn't care for the case it came with, but in my case it's just to keep it from getting caught up from everything else in my day pack.
