One would like to think that the AAngels could be relied upon to know the rules regarding access to the AC - unfortuantely, it's often not the case. Twice recently I have been questioned when trying to access the AC in JFK with my SO (I'm PLT, he has no status). On both occasions, I was told I could not bring a guest in with me. After politely requesting that they check the rules, the first time the AAngel agreed I was right and apologised. Yesterday, the AAngel was adamant I couldn't bring a guest in as a OW Sapphire but graciously allowed me access with my SO "as a one-off exception"
I'll definitely be carrying a print-out of the access policies with me in future.
