I had FCI also on boarding passes without any connection flight. AFAIK FCI is on every boarding pass of FC-pax without beeing HON or HOC (HON Companion).

So no status, *S, FTL, *G, SEN pax have FCI on the BP and HONs and their companions have their 'real' status on the BP.
