If you are passengers of China Airlines flying throughout the summer, please make sure to check with the airline about whether your flight is canceled or not. All routes leaving from Taipei except where the destination is Europe have frequency reductions. A total of 100 passenger flight frequencies will be reduced in June, and 700 (cargo and passenger) flight frequencies will be reduced from June to September. Further reductions may be in place for the Winter Schedule if the fuel price goes even higher.

North America:

TPE-(NRT)-HNL-(NRT)-TPE, CI 007/008 TPE-LAX-TPE and TPE-ANC-JFK-ANC-TPE are the flights that have no cancellation of flights as noted by the media or by the booking systems. All other flights have either got cancellation of flights on various days, or frequency reductions announced. If the fuel price goes extremely high, CI 005/006 TPE-LAX-TPE may have the route axed or reduced to 2 or 3 weekly permanently in the Winter Schedule.

As noted by another thread, CI 021/022 TPE-SEA-TPE have frequency reductions from 5 weekly to 3 weekly starting 01JUL08. Prior to that, many flights from this route are canceled. From un-confirmed resources, this route may be axed from 28OCT08, and is currently unavailable for booking on China Airlines website even during the summer periods.

Japan/Oceania: Flights are subject to cancellation if loads are not enough.

Hong Kong: 1 to 3 flights may be canceled on selective dates. Further cancellation may take place in July if the cross-strait charter flight is in effect and doing well.

Southeast Asia and India: Frequencies will be reduced, but not specified how many. All flights to Europe transiting from Bangkok will not be reduced. Routes specifically noted for frequency reductions were: Delhi, Penang, and Phnom Penh.

Europe: No changes except for the equipment swap from A343 to B74B on TPE-FRA-TPE mentioned in this thread. TPE-YVR-TPE will be switched to an A343, while CI 005/006 TPE-LAX-TPE will be switched to a B74A in response to this change.

China Airlines' rival EVA Airways, will not have frequency reductions or route axed until the summer season is over. However, they have already noted that TPE-LAX-TPE and TPE-SGN-TPE will have frequency reduced by 3 for each week, and TPE-SFO-TPE will have frequency reduced as well. A total of 70 to 80 frequencies will be reduced by then.
