Same thing happened to me. Mine was elite tagged, too. I had to go up to the ticket counter to get someone to open the baggage office for me. The person took her time. I was not very happy, either. I wound up getting my bag long, long after everyone else had retrieved their bags. It would have been nice to have had someone in the baggage office.
