I and my wife have been flying with kids from age 2 weeks, on AS and on other carriers. AS is one of the best in that regard (apples-apples - TATL is a different thing altogether).
However, when flying preganant and/or with young kids the most important thing is to recognize in advance that extra planning is going to be needed and do that planning - and this is where the OP did herself no favors (and therefore is unreasonable in blaming AS for all her problems).
While the FAs could probably have have handled this better, the root cause of the OPs problem is traveling alone while preganant with a lap child, and then compounding that by despite being an experience flyer not making sure in advance that she had an aisle seat.
Sorry, ksg99, as an experienced flyer you have no excuse for finding yourself in the situation you did. You made a gamble by not booking a 2nd seat (or booking a flight that was wide open), and you have no excuse for not knowing you were gambling, and when that gamble went bad you started blaming everyone but yourself. If you started out with an admission of your mistake, I might sympathize; you didn't and so I don't.
