I am sorry to hear what the OP had to go through. I too don't like to sit by a toddler without a seat during any flight, but if people can be a bit tolerant understanding we are all in a metal tube, things could be smoother during those situations.

+1. well said. Cut her some slack. Even if she should have bought a second seat, that doesn't equate to filling a disturbance report. The F/A's went over the top IMHO.

And to all the below the belt comments about kid free airlines and "well just buy a second ticket"....you know what? Welcome to real life. My wife and fly a lot with our little ones, and we do buy them their own seat, and we do pack everything possible to entertain/calm them....but sometimes life doesn't go according to your plan, and you end up with a lap infant (you're broke, or no seats, or whatever, that's not the point).

When i was on the other side of the world (literally) my wife had a death in the family, and had to buy next day tickets for her and our 2 little ones (one ended up a lap infant due to cost, we literally didn't have the last minute $ for the extra seat)....and it was of course the one flight where nothing went right, the kids were trouble on wheels, and flight was late, security was a mess....everything that could go wrong did...You think she needed maybe a little grace/mercy/compassion on that flight? Or just a complaint-form wielding FA? Or a holier-than-thou stuck up MVPG rolling his eyes at the mere disgusting thought of my kids on the flight? Or maybe my wife just should have skipped seeing her family and grieving with them at a funeral so posters like cj100f can have a kid free flight ? "Sorry mom, I can't come. Channa said my kids aren't ready for air travel."

You want a kidless flight? Charter a plane. Alaska allows kids, so don't berate the OP for bringing one on board.
