I think the OP is a bit over the top. While I congratulate her for trying to keep her daughter occupied, imposing on other passengers while on the plane to change seats is a bit much. I honestly don't understand why a non-middle seat is such an issue, either.

If you don't want a middle seat, then make sure the flight you're choosing has aisle or window seats available.

The threat to go to the media and such is way overblown. Honestly, as someone with a bit of luggage around the middle, I would never take a lap child, and would think about the safety of the child and others on the plane. Or buy one first class seat, which will automatically give you an aisle or window seat.

I find the demands at the end of the letter to be rather hysterical and over blown.

Now I'm just waiting for my buddy PTravel to respond.
