After removing the daypack I can take that as personal luggage, and so should be okay. This site has a photo of it .. http://www.sierratradingpost.com/Pro...&cdf=TopSeller

I know that it meets the airline requiremens, but I need to know if any OP have owned/used the High Sierra Rolling Backpack 22", did it meet their expectations for size as a carry on, durability etc. I need a bag for a 3 week (carry on only) trip in August 08 to USA and looking at options. I have searched the forum, but nothing on this particular type of backpack.
Maca, I haven't used this bag so may not be of much help.
It was actually the search for a bag that lead me to FlyerTalk in the first place.

My criteria were cost, carry-on size, weight when empty and internal capacity.
I was surprised by how much the internal capacity of two bags with exactly the same external dimensions could vary. I was also surprised by how hard it wad to find the info on capacity.

In the end, I went with the Eagle Creek 22" HoverCraft. Very light when empty, alot of capacity and expandable, got a good deal. It's pushing the limit on carry-on size though - over by an inch (why do they do that?!).

I specifically didn't want one that could convert into a backpack (heard they aren't good) but if I had wanted that, the EagleCreek Crossroads would have easily won.

Finally, some EagleCreek lines have lifetime 'any reason' warranty, some don't.
