If you try to change now you'll be hit with a huge fee as your connection would then be longer than four hours. On a domestic itinerary, a connection of over four hours is ticketed as a stopover if there is an earlier flight you could catch.

If you "get lost" they'll almost certainly stick you on the later flight if there is room. The key is whether there is room.
