Even if they get to keep it, the delay caused by a review could have Delta dumping it to avoid problems with the bigger deal. After DL/NW was announced, there was a lot of smoke about the remaining large carriers combining. They all talked, but nothing happened. It's in Delta's interest to move fast, before the money guys get cold feet. There won't be a lot of sentimentality at TPG, who could be looking at getting the rubber key on this one. AirTran must be licking its chops, while Delta, faced with a tough choice, has to figure out how to keep TPG from doing something with AirTran, who have banged them up bigtime at ATL. Midwest may have inadvertently become a chip on a very different table. None of thiis does much for the flyboys up in America's Dairyland.
