A few big flights land at the same time. if you get a visa on arrival, you'll be waiting around an hour for it (compared with 10 minutes if you use the Hala service).
If you're a resident, if the lines are long you can walk straight through with the Hala service.

TG uses the Dasman Lounge. But interestingly, if you are flying another *A carrier and using your TG ROP gold card for entry to the lounge, you have to use the Pearl Lounge, which isn't as good (IMO).
