Thanks, I'll look into pauldb's suggestion, above, keeping my ordinary card and getting a Platinum for my wife.

Thanks very much, Shuttle-Bored, for your excellent guide. Having taken the trouble to fully read it, almost all of my questions are answered. The only grey area concerns the £150 upgrade fee and whether or not this will be reduced / rebated.
