I really don't know why IHG can't simply spend, what - £30 or £40 a month on WIFI for each hotel & give it as an extra free option...some places see it as making a quick buck by charging £20/day for it, others think we're still back in the 70's & we don't really need it. None of them realise that for many of us, it is more of an essential than the running water they provide (especially if have free minibar or a store across the road!). I know I've certainly had to move my business away one or two times from IHG to nearby hotels more clued up on this, & if every single Road Chef here in the UK can provide it free...I doubt it's a technical or financial challenge of any sort or excuse....although you'd think so with my last at an IC, where I had to prod & involve everyone from desk clerk to hotel manager to get their wifi working.
