I can tell you from personal experience they will not make an exception. I wrote several letters to several VP's. I had a amex "corporate card" with the year wait and alot more than the 250K spend....they said NO. Has to be a personal or business amex card. If they said no to my situation...where they had made money for the last year, having another card from another company probably would not get an exception.
