My Olfa touch knife was about the size and shape of a silver dollar. Push the thumb switch to slide out a half-inch blade from the plastic device. I use it to clip articles while on the plane (I board with half a dozen trade magazines and pull out the articles I want). It didn't get picked up by x-ray, but during a hand inspection it got spotted. While not a costly item (I think I paid a buck and half for it), it's very hard to replace. In fact, I don't think Olfa makes them anymore. Too bad, it's a very useful tool for traveling.
I have bought one recently in AC moore or Michaels, I got the one shaoed like a ladybird (ladybug) better than the one I normally use which has a whopping great 60m circular blade
