1) They really want you to spend $250K with them first in a year first.

2) That is the standard criteria, but they really want you.
Your lifetime customer value (LCV) could be worth $50K - $100K+ to them.
If you have great credit and are willing to share your personal financial statements and credit card statements, and are willing to pay the fees, it might be worth you calling an AMEX C-Level or VP to ask.

Why should they care if you are celebrity; it doesn't really help the LCV.

Centurion, what's that?

It's an old joke, symbolic of how things have changed.

Otherwise, just get an SPG Amex, spend $250K, then get your Centurion.
