Some things to think about
:
- Just because Ted would be "dead," I wonder how many F cabins are actually going to return. My guess is that for some of these routes, that is not going to be the case, and instead they will be a one-class plane with United livery instead of Ted.
- Those planes that do come back with F cabins, I wonder how many people are actually going to pay for F tickets, or just be jammed with upgraders. If the latter is the case, I am not sure how this will benefit UA from a revenue perspective.
- Ultimately, I think removing Ted was less about customer backlash and more about reducing capacity by reconfiguring the cabins. If UA can ground their owned A320s and continue to fly the leased ones, they can increase loads by having less flights and try to continue to make lease payments.
