Flew a multi-segment COS-RNO-COS trip yesterday and today. "Food service" offered was pretty grim.
Yesterday's scheduled 2+23 hour DEN-SNA outbound flight on a 757, departing DEN at 1127, had a snack service in First consisting of a sandwich or salad, with nothing else on the tray other than a dessert cookie.
Today's SFO-DEN flight, scheduled for 2+31 hours and leaving SFO at 1245, offered only a snack sandwich, with a dry pre-packaged cookie for dessert. Worst thing on this flight was a Shuttle 737 had replaced the scheduled 737-500 aircraft.
Have things gotten so desperate with UA that we now must anticipate the possibility that a Shuttle 737 will fly over two hour flights from a major UA hub to a major UA hub??? According to the flight's FA's this has ben the case SFO-DEN for the past several days. Ouch.
