It's not actually true what De Groot says either - although it depends a bit on what you include as 'major airport' . But London Gatwick has 4.2 million charter pax per year, and Amsterdam only 2 million in 2007 (
source). And EasyJet has only 18000 seats per week in Amsterdam, as compared to 94000 in Gatwick.
