Er, things weren't that bad. Yes we got an inch or two of snow, but major (and minor for that matter) roads weren't too bad. I even managed to get down my road to the top road, and it wasn't gritted.

There's got to be a bit more to it than just weather. That said some airlines are wimps. Air France cancelled all the MAN-CDG flights, yet BA and LH were still flying (one of my collegues got caught up in that one.)
