I guess this is a lesson learned. It's polite to wait on the signs, etc., but always ask an agent before it's too late. I certainly don't want to be the one with four hours extra wait for no reason.

In my opinion, since your name was not showing on the screen as cleared, you should write in and explain what happened. If they are going to use the screens, they should show the proper information.
