This sounds promising re: Buckhead.
I think we have a general consensus in in this forum that there are old-gen RC/FS and new gen RC/FS and the differences between the hotels from each generation can be large.
Old-gen RCs are trademarked by their fox hunt themes in public & private spaces and white marble baths with tub/shower combos. Old-gen FS' have somewhat sterile decor/furnishings, near rock-hard carpets, and shower/tub combos even in suites.
Most of the renovations that have been going on the last 5 years do not come close to succeeding in transforming an older gen property to a newer gen property. The only exception I can think of is RC Palm Beach. FS BOS did little to improve the bathroom situation, ditto for FS DC, I havent been to RC Laguna since the reno, RC SFO's reno wasnt noticeable to me in August in the way Im describing.
It sounds like this *may* be an exception akin to the RC PBI. Given that this is the only lux option in North ATL, let's hope that's the case.
