I've never seen a complete episode, but I understand that the crew comes to town a few times a year for exterior location shots. If there's something in particular (i.e., there are dozens of bridges across the Chicago River, and scores of "L" stations) it shouldn't be too hard to track down.

IMDB and/or TV.com are also often good for this kind of stuff, although sometimes even they need corrections!
