Cairo hotels: SPG vs. Intercontinental

I'm planning a vacation to Egypt and am trying to decide between different hotels in Cairo, the Le Meridien Pyramids vs. the Intercontinental Giza Pyramids and the Sheraton Cairo vs. the Intercontinental Semiramis.

For those who have stayed any of these hotels, I'd appreciate any comments/recommendations.

For the Le Meridien Pyramids, I'd be staying on an award stay (Category 1). At the Intercontinental Giza, I may be paying $$ Is the Intercontinental worth paying $$ instead of staying for free at the Le Meridien?

Later during the trip, we'll be returning to central Cairo and will most likely be staying at the Intercontinental Semiramis since the research I've been able to find on the Sheraton Cairo is that the Sheraton has its "challenges" and is extremely hit or miss (even for Platinums).

Which has the better facility & grounds, locations relative to the Pyramids, rooms, lounge, elite treatment, etc. I am SPG Platinum and (hopefully) will be ICH RA.

Thanks,
