Apologies for hijacking the thread - if I am travelling to the US via Canada and only have a couple of hours stopover between flights (LHR-YVR-LAS), will I have to collect my bags and pass through immigration (All Air Canada flights)?

Similarly will I need a visa for my time in Canada or am I allowed through as in transit? Any advice appreciated!
