Are you sure exporting the PST file is your only option? What if you setup an IMAP based email account and copy over all your emails? You'll then have the option to download the emails on to another computer directly from the IMAP server.
I don't have any way of setting up an IMAP server on the system -- we have a Citrix system and I've got no access to anything except the limited level of control permitted by the sysadmin.
