SQ233/234 Aircraft Switch
Flew from Singapore to Sydney on SQ233 on 31 May.
Rather than the 777-300ER operating this service, the flight was operated by the old regional 777-300.
For P and J class passengers, there is certainly no comparison between the new SQ products and the old products.
Shortly before the doors were closed, an airline staff member boarded the aircraft, apologised to the first class passengers for the aircraft switch, said that no compensation would be payable, and offered to transfer those passengers (there were 4 of us) onto SQ219 departing 2 and a half hours later. Not too sure how this would have worked so close to the scheduled departure time with bags in the hold.
Appreciate that these things happen, but it's very disappointing. Suggest if flying this route you check as close a time as you can on whether there will be an aircraft switch. Or avoid flying these flights and opt for one of the other SQ flights a day.
