Additional info is that the plane aborted the first two landing attempts, then touched down halfway down the runway on the third attempt, leaving insufficient room to stop. As noted by AdamS above, AP is reporting that mainline jet traffic will now be moved permanently to Palmerola airport (Sota Cano base), approximately 30 mi north of the city.
