Flew LGA-FLL one-way last week at the last minute. Checked fares on Expedia, and the cheapest I found was $309. Checked Spirit: $164 + $20 for 1 checked bag (didn't bother to pay for it online, which would have been $10.) Given the direction the airline industry is taking today, I don't care how Spirit nickels-and-dimes me. As long as they are cheaper than the competition I will fly them.
