The FAA limit is 1 carryon + 1 personal item. Spirit offers this both domestically and internationally.

The new fees are just the tip of the iceberg IMO, more to come....they changed systems yesterday.

Honestly, I'm surprised they didn't do this earlier. Many other carriers already have some type of seat charge.
