Actually, this seems to be new news again, with UA/CO back to talking about forming an alliance rather than doing a merger.

While I'd be thrilled to see CO join US and UA in *A, US leaving *A would be the deal-breaker for me staying with US. Almost all my US miles are spent on travel to Asia on TG, SK, etc.

The one interesting shuffle I could see would be CO moving to *A and US moving to OneWorld. BA wanted to tie up with US even before UA did (actually, that may have been back in the Piedmont days?), and I think that AA + US would have a lot to gain from each other in an alliance (such as in the southeast US). Also BA, AA, and US all have coordinating red, white, and blue color schemes.

(I'm not saying they could pull this off mind you...)
