Would it be possible for me to make the 6:55 PM flight 2473 (I would need to go from terminal B to C at DFW). If not, could I make flight 1688 departing at 7:25 PM from gate D18?

Also, I don't have any experience with flying standby. Am I supposed to go ahead and check in and receive boarding passes for my 10:15 PM flight to LAX, and then hope I can fly standby for an earlier flight?
It's doable, I'd get a deat up front from LIT, and be prepared to hustle off the plane. If you get in a little early (even 5 minutes) and the DFW-LAX is running a little late (again even 5 minutes), I would think you are looking good. Worse case is, you miss it and hop on the train to Terminal D.
