Continental needs to be proactive and stop beating around the bush and be the first to implement Continental Pay By Weight(CPBW). Basically, you will make a reservation w/ a price similar to today's system, then upon arrival at the airport, you and your luggage will be weighed and you will either 1) be charged extra for being 'over weight' or receive a refund for being 'under weight'. All of the BS charges for extra luggage, etc etc are removed and CO will be better able to estimate a flight's fuel consumption, profitability based on weight.
