Thanks. I read somewhere about the new CRH trains from Shanghai to Nanjing, and I am thinking of using it. I was also thinking of continuing north from there to some of the more tourist-oriented locales, perhaps as far as Qingdao (or maybe direct to Beijing). Kind of a "whistle-stop" tour of eastern China's "greatest hits."

But if there are no CRH trains north of Nanjing yet, this might not be a great idea for a time-sensitive traveller.
