My sister was supposed to be on Jet Blue's SYR-JFK-SLC tonight. Her flight SYR-JFK (scheduled departure 5:20 pm) was cancelled. Jet Blue claims it was an ATC issue and that all incoming flights were delayed or cancelled due to congestion. They are thus refusing to pay for her hotel in SYR tonight.

Anyone know whether this ATC issue is in fact true or how she could find out?
