Excuse me if I am ruffling some feathers with die-hard UA customrs here but an incident today makes me want to boycott UA forever.

UA 1045 from YVR-SFO. After take off, F/As took out drinks cart. I was seated in row 7F. Drinks cart was in row 8. Suddenly I see an 11 year old (or 12 maybe) Japanese Girl squeeze past drinks cart and dashed into First Class. I think she was looking to use the lav. Anyway, I think it was busy so she decided to turn back. Th edrinks trolley was in the way. So she attempted to squeeze past. The male Flight Attendant, literally yelled at her to wait! She pointed to her mouth and shook her head... a very Japanese signal I think that she cannot speak English. He then said very loudly, "You will have to wait till I finish."

Hello? Seat 6D was empty. She was cowering in that seat hoping that he would move forward so that she could go back to her seat ... which I later found out was the last row of the aircraft. No, the FA would not budge and she literally followed him STEP by STEP.

By the time the cart reached row 10, she was still there. Again she attempted to squeeze past as she thought "Hey , there's a lot more room here"

It was just then that I heard the male FA shout at her "No you don't. Just BACK OFF and wait!!!". That poor girl was almost in tears.

I was soooo shocked to see such behaviour from a member of a Chapter 11 airline's cabin crew. I prompted went to the Purser and asked him to intervene... and expalined the situation. He said that he would look into it as he is busy serving meals. I told him that it does require prompt action... like NOW.

Did he move? No......

Finally, after about 40 minutes, the girl finally go to her seat.

Just then, the other FA came by and said to me "I think I should explain to you that the girl pushed me when she went by me".
I think for an international airline like UNITED, they should know that Japanese people are extremely shy especially when they can't speak the language. I don't think she might have pushed the FAs hard out of the way but rather to gently move them as she was moving past.

I told her that I am simply aghast in seeing such behavior and that I think the FA in question was just plain rude. Especially in this Chapetr 11 climate, UA's asian routes are their bread and butter ... but in any case, this type of unruliness is uncalled for. Why can't he just move out of the way and let the girl past. Okay she might have been a little pushy.. but as a child, don't you think that as a FA, to use common sense? It would have taken him 5 seconds to move forward and back to let her pass.

Maybe he thinks he is too high and mighty to be disciplined. But I want to take it to the highest place..

Where and whom do you think I should write ? I am thinking of writing c/o IAPA.

BTW I am not looking for compensation or anything. Rather an explanation or some disciplinary action against that FA.

I hope that FA gets laid off for good!
