F check in is at the south end of the building. It's easier to imagine landside as trying to cross a football field. F is near the right hand goal area. The "exits" from the pitch (ie security) are at the far left and right corners of the pitch.

Security - well, read what's been written here. Don't mess with the trays and don't drop anything you might need (eg passport) between the rollers. Compared to T4, if there was no one else around in either, in a straight race I think T4 would edge it. If there are people queuing, the queue may be slower moving in T5 than in T4 due to the trays.

No idea how quickly you can get through if there's queues.

Lounges: If you go to the right hand (south) security channel, and select the right most of the channels, you'll come out right next to the door to the Concorde Room... however, if you're Gold in J, you have to walk left, down the escalators, head back towards the south end of the building and then up some escalators to get to the F lounge.

At the south end there's a stack of CCR, F and Galleries. At the north end there's just a Galleries. There's also a to-be-opened Galleries in T5B.

If you want to speed up progress through T5, get used to running up and down escalators . It's a very up-down kind of place.
