Supply and demand my friend. $900 for a roundtrip, IMHO, is very reasonable with $130/barrel oil and $4+ jet fuel. Airlines aren't charities, they need to make money, pay their staff, make some profit for their owners, and make the payments on the planes they rent.
What were you paying for that trip when oil was $50/barrel? $30/barrel?
I should add that oil stocks are still only being priced as though oil is around $70/barrel. So plenty of upside should you wish to hedge some of your oil-consuming habits
