It's a clear violation of fire code. Someone needs to light this MOD like a Christmas tree. The sad thing is that regardless of the law, which this clown is obviously ignorant of, you'd think that just out of common courtesy a manager at a hospitality organization that prides itself on customer service would want to treat people better than this.

Just picturing the OP's 78 year old mother and 90 year old handicapped step-father having to make their way down the stairs because of this clown's lack of common sense and decency really pisses me off.

It's too bad someone didn't call the local non-emergency number for the San Francisco Fire Dept. requesting the local fire captain to come out and explain the reality of the situation to this clown. There's nothing like having someone that can shut your business down reading you the riot act to get one's mind right.

I'd write Marriott Customer Service and explain the situation. I believe that they really do care about their customer's safety and will be as appalled by this idiot's actions as I am.
