Given the amount of elevator luggage you're talking about, if noone has issues walking, it might be faster to stick to the moving walkways while in A. A57 is almost exactly between the fountain and A78, and a little closer to the north station, yet lugging all the extras up/down the elevator might slow you down.
Don't forget to confirm your arrival gate, and look out the window when the plane arrives. It wouldn't be the first time that a gate isn't as advertised, upon arrival. And don't forget to confirm your departure gate!
Aside from that, DTW is just about the best airport, for connections. You should be walking only about 10-12 minutes, so you shouldn't have any issues,
as long as the plane arrives on time. And people have already covered getting up front on the plane, and having a runner to get there first.
