That is correct, and it's a "loophole" that has been exploited by our very own FT member chuljin for Select Plus status (worth pursuing over regular Select status because of the lounge access), except he does a trip $1 cheaper--Glendale-LAUS.

I'm on the Van Nuys Flyaway heading to the airport to go home, but if I lived here, you'd bet I'd be doing some cheap Surfliner runs right along side ya!
