What inventory do I want to be looking for on EF if I'm looking to upgrade out of coach - C, I assume, and A is for upgrades out of business class?

Was hoping to book STL-CDG for this. Does the luxury tax only apply to round trips that begin in France, or would it apply as well to any segment at all departing from CDG?
